Easiest Poker Tips
This page has some easy poker tips and advice to follow.
Find Easy Opponents
Poker can be easy or hard depending on who you have to play against. Select your opponents carefully and find players that are easy to beat. One of the easiest tips that I can give to poker players is to be careful with their table selection
Use the player note features offered on most poker rooms. Track the fish and get to know your opponents. you will win your money in poker from playing against people that aren't as good as you at poker, not from getting lucky against better players.
Master 1 Poker Game Type and Structure
Playing in sit n go tournaments, multi table tournaments and cash games takes some very different skill sets. If you really want to win money at the poker tables, pick 1 game to specialize in.
Some players like to play in the Texas Holdem Games all of the time. When you committ yourself to playing 1 game type you can gain a significant edge over other players. Some players will also tell you that it is easier to make money by specializing in the less popular games like Omaha. This is because there is always Holdem players trying to learn how to play Omaha. Another great tip that I'll give you is to find the Texas holdem players who are just learning Omaha. These are some of the easiest players to beat at poker.
Play Aggressive Poker
There are lots of situation in poker where the more aggressive player will have an advantage. This might be because your opponent had good cards before the flop that did not connect, or maybe because there are scare cards on the board and you are representing a hand that can beat your opponent.
Aggression is important, but keep in mind that you can't just play out of control poker. When I tell people to play more aggressively, they usually raise too often and lose more money than they did before I start giving them advice.
Selective aggression is the key to beating games like Texas Holdem. This seems like an easy poker tip to follow, but this is easier said than done. The easiest way to learn this aspect of poker is to play lots of hands and play as often as possible. The more you play, the better your timing will become.
Hand Strength is Situational
A hand like A-3 is crushed by a superior hand like A-J. However a hand like 7-8 is not is as poor of shape as A-7 is against A-K. But don't forget that A-7 is also crushing 7-8, so here we have a situation where an inferior hand (7-8) is actually preferred to a superior hand (A-7).
If you can figure out what kind of hand your opponent is likely to have, it will be much easier to make good decisions at the poker table when you consider the concept above.
